I just upgraded our Palm Treo750 from WM5 to WM6, when I click on the
Calculator at Start/Programs/Calculator I get a message telling me "
calc.exe The file "calc" cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a
trusted certifacate or one of its components cannot be found. If problem
persists try reinstalling or restoring fle." Can anyone tell me how I can
reinstall the Calculator program in WM6, did a search on the Treo and I
could not find a Calcexe. file anywhere, also cannot find anyone else who
has had this problem after upgrading to WM6. We need the calculator on this
device..

Paul,

Not seen this one before....

Have you done a hard reset of the device to get it back to default WM6? Did
you get any errors during the upgrade?

might be that only the shortcut was deleted... look in \windows for a
"calc" program about 35k... if there, copy it, then "paste shortcut" in
the \windows\startmenu\programs folder and rename.

If not, there are a number of third party calc programs.

Short cut is there, when I try it I get the "The file "calc" cannot be
opened. Either it is not signed with a
trusted certifacate or one of its components cannot be found. If problem
persists try reinstalling or restoring fle." Message... No error messages
during upgrade.. Didn't try the hard reset though, will give that a try but
do a backup first.,,

Paul,

If you do a backup and restore it is possible it will "delete" the shortcut
target again.

I know you found it but the calculator shortcut goes to MSCalc not just
calc. Maybe that will help someone.

Sven, before I was able to fix the problem I did a search for MSCalc,
calc.exe, :MSCALC and \Windows\MobileCalculator.exe and came up with
nothing.

>> did a search <<

curious on how did searched. FIND does not search anything other than
the \my documents folder and file explorer does not show extensions...

the file is "calc.exe" and shows as \windows\calc along with two other
files named "calc" in \windows which have different extensions.
