Hi, all

I just found out about a really cool emulator for the HP-42s called free42.
You can download it from http://free42.sourceforge.net/

The source code is set up for Embedded C++ 3.0, and I'd like to build it
with VS 2005.

I tried to import the existing project files but it didn't work. Before I go
to the trouble of recreating the project, I'm wondering if someone has
already done this. If you have, please let me know!

Cheers

Just after posting that I got off my lazy butt and actually read the README
and makefile. It turned out to be pretty easy to get the project building.

Now to see if I can repro the hang I've been getting every once in a
while...

Cheers

Also note that Free42 does have a compiled version at

elaborated on in the HP Calculator Emulation Bible (

Hi, Werner

Quite right - I wanted to compile it because it's been hanging on me from
time to time & I thought I'd try to diagnose the problem. Haven't found the
time to do that yet, though...
