I have an iPAQ 111 with Windows Mobile 6.0. The wireless works fine,
but every day or two my home network disappears and an option and only
displays two open non-secured networks from neighbors. Each time I
have to add New and enter in the SSID and the key and then all things
are great...until it mysteriously disappears again.

Why would this keep happening? We have a laptop which we normally
connect with wired ethernet, but sometimes we use the wireless. I've
never seen where we had to re-enter all the network info again on the
laptop even if it's been a long time since it was used. (The router
is a Linksys WCG200 Wireless Cable Gateway.)

Why would the connection completely disappear from the iPAQ wireless
connection list entirely as if I never entered it in as an option?

How can I get the iPAQ to not see the neighbors unsecured open
networks?

Thank you-
Vickie

To tell you the truth, Vickie, I have an opposite situation here. A Windows
Mobile 6 device which connects to the 3 different networks that I usually
connect (home, work and one of my customers) without ever asking again for
the definitions, and an XP-based notebook that every time that I get it
connected to another network it requires me to re-define all data again to
get to the office or home networks......

So, as you can see, it is not a problem of the features of the device. Maybe
there is a problem in the way that the specific device you have is saving
the network profile.

The best idea would be to go to Settings -> Connections -> Network Cards and
delete from there your network profile. Then connect again and let the
device re-create it all, maybe it would solve the problem.
