Part of wireless keyboard not working

I have a Microsoft wireless comfort keyboard 1.0a and when I powered up my
system today, only the keys up by my favorites work. Volume, all favorites
and such work but not the keyboard. I changed batteries and did the things
Microsoft says to do but still nothing. Receiver is real close to the
keyboard. It worked last night when I powered it off. I also changed USB
ports & restarted.

wireless mouse/keyboard I just bought a wireless Installed the software and the keyboard works fine but I cannot get the mouse to work. Tried everything in the help menu: resetting the chanel, reinstalling the software, new batteries, etc. still does not work.
