I sent these messages to the US Microsoft support, before being told that
they could not help me, being in the UK, so was wondering if anyone had any
ideas.

I was looking at the above article, trying to set up a wireless network on
my desktop, but the router that I have does not have any USB ports, is there
anyway to configure this router to a network without putting all the settings
on a pen drive?"

"I am having trouble with my desktop in regard to connecting to another
desktop's wireless network. The network is unsecured and has worked fine in
the past, but when I have recently connected there is very little activity
(browsing is very slow and most programs cannot connect to their servers - eg
Steam). None of my firewall settings have changed since the last time I was
online (about 2 months ago). I repeatedly get the "limited or no
connectivity" warning. I am using a belkin USB adapter that has worked fine
previously, could it just be that this needs replacing or is it some other
problem?"

I am using a pretty basic router that just came free with my parents
connection.
Any help would be appreciated.
This article seems to be someone having the same problem:

Please note this newsgroup is called "microsoft.public.pocketpc.wireless"
and has nothing to do with notebooks.

Anyway, if you get "limited or no connectivity" this is usually due to the
fact that you have not matched the security settings of the computer to the
security requirements of the router.
