|

Hello all,
I have a Palm Treo 700wx and cannot get the phone to sync with my Exchange
03 SP2 Server. I have the certificates that were issued to me by GoDaddy,
GoDaddy's and all the other root certs that I think I need on the phone, but
for some reason it keeps giving me the error code 85030028 when attached to
the computer or 85030027 when not physically attached to the computer. Anyone
have any idea on what root cert it is looking for?
Thank you for all the help in advance.
Scott

This code means "The client is missing the personal digital certificate
required to synchronize with Exchange."
Meaning either you have the wrong certificates on the phone or you have only
copied them to the phone and not installed them by clicking them on the
phone from within File Explorer.

How can I make sure that the cert installs to the correct location? I can get
to the OWA just fine on the phone. When I try to go to /oma i get that it
wants to use a cert and to choose a cert. Can I get a cert requested from
2003 Server?

Ok.. I created the personal cert using the Digital Cert for VBA Projects in
the Office Tools. Exported it to a memory card and installed it on the phone.
How in the world do I get it into the personal cert area on the phone? Does
it need to be there?

This is not the right certificate.
You need the Root CA certificate from the Exchange Server:
- Open IIS Administrator
- Right-Click Default Website
- Click Properties
- Go to the Directory Security tab
- Click on View Certificate
- Go to the tab called Certification Path
- Double-click the uppermost certificate to open it.
- Go to Details tab
- Click the Copy to File button
- Chose to export it in DER format (which has a CER suffix).

Helio,
I tried those steps that you proposed, however, I still get the same issue.
I have tried to reboot the phone and IIS with no success. I copied all the
certs that were in the security tab. Any other ideas??
Thank you.
