I sync my Axim on both my laptop and our "family desktop" - this has never
been a problem as I installed AS for myself and deleted the HKCU_Run
entries for everyone else. Now, my daughter just bought herself an Insignia
(Best Buy) MP3 player and installed the "Best Buy Music Store" (Rhapsody-
based) software it came with. When we ran BBMS the first time, it kept
trying to install AS for my daughter's user account. But the setup file had
long been deleted. I uninstalled AS4.5 (for other reasons as well, see my
other thread on "switch user") and then BBMS installed and ran just fine. I
reinstalled AS4.5 in my account but then it wanted to install it in her
account again.
Anyone know why this is? A workaround? The only reason this is a problem is
because AS4.5 is incompatible with switch user (which, with 4 of us sharing
this computer) we use a lot. For me, it's OK but I don't want the AS window
opening everytime she switches back to her account.
I guess the simplest answer is for me to synch only on the computers I
alone use. Still, if there is another workaround, I'd love to know it.
