I'm using a Samsung i320 with Smartphone 5.0. When I play music over the
stereo bluetooth connection, I get an occasional problem that the playback
pauses for about 1/4 to 1/2 second before resuming. Presumably the software
decided to do something else for a brief moment and couldn't service the
music streaming. But it is annoying when listening to music. Is this a known
problem with Windows Mobile 5.0 or with this particular phone? Is there
anything that can be done about it? As far as I know I don't have other
programs running in the background and no message or phone call is coming in
when that happens. Thanks...

Generally, bluetooth stereo profile need more resource(CPU, power), so
sometime soud paused or play when big media(video) file playback.
So, you need to search & install more optimized BT stereo profile( You could
serach 'A2DP' keyword)

Personally, I thought that Samsung i320 used low performance chipset. Sad

It uses the XScale PXA272 @ 416MHz, which is, A2DP-wise way better than,
say, Samsung CPU's. With Samsungs, this problem is pretty common; not so
with XScale's.

If it's only during music playback that you encounter these skips, there
might be two cases:

- you use a music player that consumes a LOT of CPU power because, for
example, you've enabled the equalizer. You can easily test this by

1. either using WMP or, even better, TCPMP
2. overclocking your device to, say, 520 MHz

- you use BT headphones that are just incompatible with the MS BT stack.

Check out my multimedia-related articles if interested,

I'm using the built-in WMP. My WMP doesn't seem to have any equalizer
options. The phone has Samsung's WOW XT equalizer which I have switched off.
I use two different Plantronics bluetooth headsets (590 and 855) and have
the same problem.

How does one overclock this phone? Is there a menu or registry setting?

I looked up TCPMP. I'll give it a try too.
