This is probably a dumb question but, If I visit a web site that uses
Silverlight video, can I view the video on my Mobile 5.0 without a direct
download link to the video file itself or, does the video have to be
non-embedded in Silverlight to view it?

There are no dumb questions (just dumb answers Wink so I'll try to
avoid a dumb answer here. There's currently not (as far as I'm aware)
a viable Silverlight browser plugin for WM5, though there may be in
future.

Silverlight does host the video as bog standard WMV, but you're right
- without inspecting the source of the silverlight XAML or Javascript
you won't be able to play the video directly.

If you *can* find the video source - many but not all WM codecs are
available in WMP10 on the PPC, but (for example) voice codecs and
screen capture codecs used for presentations are generally out of
range for pocket PCs.

HTH
Cheers - Neil

Thank you for your answer. I hope that the Silverlight team considers PPC
soon. It is, after all, a cross-platform plugin. Wink
