In principal, have to respectfully disagree as a number of different
readers other than the ms flavor are suggested, discussed and even
supported here including the pdf readers...
However... pdf files must be "tagged" to be ppc viable, and the few
books on this site (at least the demos) are not tagged and therefore ppc
hostile.

Since ActiveSync can tag pdf files fairly well most of the time,
especially if they are just text then this limitation would seem easy to
overcome.

Dale, you must be a lot luckier than I am or working with fairly
unprotected pdf's
My experience with Activesync Tagging was so bad, I gave up on it years
ago and using "full" acrobat to add tags is probably running at less
than 50% success rate.
Quick look at the doc samples on this site also shows that things such
as tables would also indicate that even if they "tag" they are going to
be pretty hard to manage on a ppc.

Good point about tables. I have had fair success with activesync tagging
except for images with text run around. Of course using full acrobat or
framemaker can do a much better job. For the bad sections of a document
you can always turn tagging off to read that section. Much of the time a
simple word wrap would be all that was needed but that is unfortunately
not an option in Adobe reader and I have yet to find another reader that
can even do reflow.

For both speed and display, I find a program called Repligo to be awesome.
I don't recall all the particulars but I know it is available with at least
a two week free trial...you might wanna check it out. |

Ah yes. It is similar to the pdf reader that adobe offers on Palm. It
converts the files to a unique format and then downloads them to the
PDA. The PDA will not read PDF files using Repligo.
