|
|
I have a HP iPaq hx4700 Pocket PC with WM5 and I recently purchased an 8GB
CF card to use for media. No matter what I try I can't get album art to
come over when syncing with Media Player 11.
Here's what I've tried:
- Deleted all WM related info from device and card (WMPInfo.xml, WMDRM,
Playlists, and music)
- Deleted sync partnership from Media Player 11
- Enabled Media sync in ActiveSync
- Connect iPaq and create new sync partnership in Media Player 11
- Sync a playlist with music containing album art (music ripped from
original CD)
- Still no album art on iPaq
I've tried everything I can think of short of completely re-setting the iPaq
to factory default and starting over.
Any suggestions?
Set up:
- HP iPaq hx4700 with WM5 and all patches / updates
- ActiveSync 4.5.0
- Windows XP SP2
Many thanks.

Hi Sean,
i had the same problem.
Im spanish and i am using the spanish version of WMP mobile, so my
translations might not be perfect.
You need to save your info (artwork, etc) with the album in the Pc. To do
this, go to your library in the Pc (inside WMP), hit the library menu and hit
the Apply changes to multimedia files (this is being translated from
spanish). Then sync your albums. I would also select for every album the
option of search for album information (right click over the album) and make
sure the album data is correct.
Hope it helps

Thank you very much Edgardo for the suggestion. I will try that later and
see if it helps. I do already have media player set to automatically update
and rename music files, and it generally does that correctly.
Once I try your suggestion I will post an update.
Thanks.

I tried using the "Apply Media Information Changes" and then re-synced some
new media files, but still the same problem. Also no change for the
existing media files.
I realized that the last time the album art did work for me was probably
with Media Player 10. I had files synced on another memory card from a
while back and they all had the album art with them. Unfortunately I wasn't
syncing music at the time I upgraded to WMP11 so I can't be sure that's when
it stopped working.
This is very frustrating! Maybe I should just get an iPod.
Thanks,
Sean

Did you ever come up with a solution? I synced my T-Mobile MDA a few months
ago with WMP11 and my device read the album art perfectly. Today I erased
the old songs and replaced them with new ones and no album art.
It's driving me nuts...

Crazy crazy crazy. It was working a few weeks ago. I could view album art
on every song on my T-Mobile MDA just fine. I need to get my brain checked

I flashed my MDA with a new version of WM6 and the problem is fixed...

Do tell! What did you flash and from what source?
I also have a problem with "play count" not incrementing and "date last
played" not updating when I sync from my device player to my PC. Is that
fixed too?

Do tell! Where did you get the "new version" of WM6? xda-dev? What version?
I also have a problem with "play count" not incrementing and "date last
played" not updating when I sync from my device back to the PC. Does you new
flash fix that too?
