On my WM 5.0 device, every day when I look in Running Programs,
ActiveSync is listed as running, so I kill it. But it always comes
back later.

I'm not launching it, so who is?

It's as if it's being launched by an auto-scheduler, but I can find no
such utility in the UI.

If it's those aliens out in Roswell again, so help me I'll...

Thanks much.

1. Launch ActiveSync on PPC (Start -> Programs -> ActiveSync);
2. Go to Menu -> Add Server Source;

3. Write any name for server. For example, SomeServer, push Next, input any
login/pass/domain and push Finish;

4. Go to Menu -> Schedule and change 2 listings to "Manually" and "??";

5. Next step - again to Menu -> Options, Exchange Server and Delete it.

That does not work on my WM6.0 AT&T Tilt with AS ver 4.5.5096.0. Does
anyone here know how to make it stop? I think it is slowing down my PPC
running all the time even when the PPC is not connected to the PC.
Also, when ever I list the PPC's \windows\ folder in file explorer via AS,
it brings my PC's processor to it's knees until the files are finally
displayed. Why is the necessary?
I think AS is still in need of some serious tweaking.

Google "ActiveSyncToggle" and download it.
Then you can use it, once you have synchronized your device,
to deactivate ActiveSync.
Then your device can remain connected to your PC and getting
charged through the USB cable.

Once you need to access it and/or sync it again, click on
"Enable it" and it will come back.

ActiveSynch is the worst program I've ever been dealing with!
In my case, it sync without asking, every 5-6 minutes!
80% of the time, it drops the connection in the middle of
a sync and then, once it's in good mood enough to actually
work as expected, it asks me to do a full resync.
This means, Outlook->Device. Losing all modifications on the
device.

This is definitely not serious at all.

Sincerely,
Steve JORDI
