I'm curious where you found a pocketpc with a DVD player. Are you really
talking about a desktop/laptop and just missed the pocketpc in this
newsgroup title? Or are you talking about having ripped a DVD for a pocketpc
and you get no sound on the portable device?

By the way, is there any way (not WMP) to connect USB CD drive (my PDA has
USB host) and play CD-Audio?

Couple of potential issues there. One, does whatever device you have,
support USB mass storage devices. If you can hook up a USB drive, solid
state or powered external hard drive, then yes it can probably see a CD
drive and read the CD. Check using file explorer. That is probably fixable
if the answer is no. Google for PPC USB Host drivers, and I'll bet you find
something. Second is that audio CDs have files on them that are .cda (CD
Audio) I'll bet you won't find a program that can read that on a PPC, as
they are generally too large to efficiently keep on a PPC, so supporting
them would be a novelty. However, there are a lot of programmers with spare
time, so you may find that if you search.

If you get by #1, a CD full of MP3s or WMAs, etc., should work fine with any
media player that supports them

Hooking a CD drive to a PPC though strikes me as sort of underwhelming. CDs
are only about 500-600M, and only hold 10-15 songs in cda format. In MP3
they of course hold more but 256-512M flash cards are dirt cheap if you want
to load up more than one. Heck, going the USB flash route you can get a 4G
stick and fill it up with as much music as you can put on a typical Nano or
Zune.

Of cource, grabbing that CDs would be easiest way. But i had several cases
when i had my PDA and some USB CD/DVD drive for PC near and had possibility
to listen some audio CDs with language cource, but i couldnt take that CDs
home or even next room (with PC and USB DVD drive). So not for some real
result but just to know, maybe there is some not very complex way, i asked
here.
By the way, that CDs are ususal CD-Audio disks, there are no any files for
sure.

Hey Caroline,Go to sync tab click on more options then click device go to
speakers or sound change default setting to the other choices available, if
that doesn't work do a search for the ac3 filter. this should do it.
