I just purchased a phone that runs a Windows Mobile 6.0...a website
that I currently use for school, I can access. When I click on a link
for the school (when normally accessed from laptop, will open a second
browser window to view the content) however, on my phone it will just
do nothing.
Is there a way to change settings to open in the same browser window?
or something I can download that will enable a second browser window
to be opened?
Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Actually, that's already the WM device's default behavior- there's nothing
to set.

More than likely the problem is the contents of the page, or even the link
you're tapping itself- the mobile version of IE probably can't parse or
render it.

If Java is on your device, try downloading Opera Mini browser from
mini.opera.com and see if that can handle it.

As a last resort, if you'll be needing to access this site a lot, is to
"remote" into your laptop, letting it do the work, while you view it on the
device. (The following will only work for touchscreen WM phones right now)
Go to LogMeIn.com on the laptop and setup a free account for the laptop.
Now go to www.logmein.com/pda and log into your account and the laptop's
display will popup on your phone and you'll be able to control it remotely.
I use this for a few stubborn work websites that no WinMo browser can
handle.

Windows Mobile doesn't support second windows out of the box. There are
third party programs that extend PIE. One that runs on WM Pro is SPB Pocket
Plus. www.spbsoftwarehouse.com You can get a trial there and see if it
helps.

You say you got a phone, but is it really a phone or a 'pocket pc phone'.
One runs Windows Mobile Standard and the latter WM Pro. In this case it will
make a differnce to what package will work on your device. If you know the
difference, great. If not, post with your phone model and we'll help
further.
