I have a Samsung Jack (Samsung Blackjack II in the US) smartphone and I want
to connect my Vista PC and the smartphone together using a bluetooth serial
port.

Unfortunantly, neither the phone or the PC can detect the serial port
profile on a services query.

What is going on?

WinMo devices, AFAIK, don't connect to PCs using SPP- you have to use the
"Activesync profile."

In WMDC (since you're using Vista) you tell the "connections settings" to
allow connections via Bluetooth. Now make the PC discoverable (if it isn't
already) then discover it's services from the Blackjack. "Activesync"
should be available. Select that, then you'll be able to connect to WMDC
on the PC from Activesync on the device (Menu/Connect via BT.)

That's as close to a "serial" connection you're likely to get.

Don't have a BJ, but it would help others to know what PC and BT
implementation you have. Not everything supports every BT profile, though
serial would seem to be pretty common.
